Secondary Library

Our vision is for the library to be a home to a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, offering our pupils insights about themselves and that of the wider world. A marvellous resource for pupils to explore to build confidence, inspire curiosity and develop a sense of empathy; ultimately having a positive impact on their personal growth and academic success.

It is our desire to cultivate and nurture an active whole school reading culture, where reading for pleasure is embraced and celebrated in all areas of our school community. We believe working with pupils to find the right reading material is fundamental to igniting a genuine passion for reading and opening them up to the amazing benefits of reading for pleasure.

Reading Cloud is the library management system that we use to keep track of our library books and resources and make them available to borrow, reserve and review. Pupils and teachers can log into the system during classroom-based library lessons, and at home via a web browser or mobile app. Pupils are able to learn more about their favourite authors, search for their next reads, and reserve books to be delivered to them during form time. They are encouraged to share their reading experiences and recommend good reads to their classmates – inspiring each other along their reading journeys!
