Uniform

We expect our children to look smart and take pride in their appearance at all times and we ask that our families support the uniform requirements. If parents need help with purchasing uniform or would like to talk to us about acquiring second hand uniform, please contact the relevant school office.

Primary Uniform (Reception to Year 6)

  • Plain white polo shirt with/without logo
  • Plain royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan with/without logo
  • Plain grey or black trousers, shorts, skirts, pinafore dresses
  • Plain black, grey or white thick tights or socks
  • Comfortable, practical completely black trainers or shoes/boots (with black laces)
  • Blue and white checked summer dresses can be worn between Easter and October half term
  • Outer layers of clothing, including a Castle Newnham fleece and reversible jacket are also available for purchase.

Primary PE Kit:

  • Plain royal blue PE polo or t- shirt (with/without school logo)
  • Plain black/ navy tracksuit bottoms, shorts or appropriate sports leggings.
  • Plain black/ navy coloured sweatshirt or fleece with/without school logo for colder weather. Hoodies are not permitted.
  • Suitable trainers for physical activity (that are different to school shoes for hygiene reasons)
  • Plain black/ navy base layers are encouraged in the winter periods and a Castle Newnham Rugby top is available too.

Notes

  • Reception only – PE kit is not required.
  • For year groups that go swimming (families will be notified in advance), swimming costume/ trunks and a towel are required.
  • For PE lessons, co-curricular clubs and fixtures, long hair must be tied back and stud earrings removed. New piercings will need to be covered with tape or plasters brought from home.

Expectations for jewellery and make-up

The only jewellery that pupils are permitted to wear are one small pair of stud earrings, a watch or any religious/ medical adornment.

No nail varnish, nail extensions or make-up are to be worn.

Secondary Uniform (Year 7 to 11)

  • A white button up shirt or blouse (short or long sleeve)
  • Navy and white school tie
  • Royal blue blazer with school crest
  • Grey 'school-type' (i.e. flared at the ankle) trousers/shorts or a grey pleated skirt
  • Black, grey or white tights or socks
  • Comfortable, practical, completely black school shoes (with black laces). Trainers are acceptable as long as they are fully black.

 Optional school-branded uniform items:

  • Grey V-necked jumper with blue trim

 Optional uniform items:

  • Grey V-necked knitted jumper, long sleeve

Secondary PE Kit:

  • Plain navy blue PE style polo shirt with school logo
  • Plain navy tracksuit bottoms or appropriate sports leggings with or without school logo. Fashion leggings require shorts to be worn over the top 
  • Plain navy shorts or skorts. Plain navy cycling shorts are permitted but must be mid-thigh in length and of a good quality material
  • Plain navy sweatshirt or quarter zip fleece top with or without school logo/no obvious branding. No hoodies.
  • Suitable trainers for physical activity (that are different to school shoes for hygiene reasons)
  • Base layers are encouraged in cold weather (grey, white or blue)
  • Football boots, shin pads and gum shields are all required for safety purpose

Secondary Dance Kit:

  • Pupils are expected to dance in barefoot
  • For Key Stage 3, pupils wear the above PE kit
  • For Key Stage 4, pupils wear the above PE kit with the exception of wearing either the CNS Performing Arts polo shirt or a plain black polo shirt

  • CNS Royal unisex blue polo shirt
  • CNS leggings
  • CNS rugby top
  • CNS sweatshirt
  • CNS quarter zip training top

Expectations for jewellery and hairstyles:

  • Hair must be natural colours and styles and avoid extremes of style. It must be tied back and jewellery removed for all PE, Dance, DT, practical Science lessons and co-curricular activities. New piercings must be covered with tape or plasters.

  • Jewellery is limited to a wristwatch and plain studs in the ear and/or nose. Religious and/or medical attire may be worn.

  • In KS3 no make-up is to be worn. In KS4, minimal make-up can be worn. Pupils will be supported to remove obvious make-up in school.

Uniform with the school's logo is available to buy through the school’s online shop. All other items can be bought elsewhere.

Orders will be delivered to your home address.  A delivery charge of £3.95 will be added to your order.  Orders will be processed as quickly as possible but please allow 10 days for delivery.

The school is unable to accept returns.  We do have samples of all sizes in school, if you are unsure of which size to order.

Uniform Store for pre-loved items

Our Uniform Store offers pre-loved school uniforms at affordable prices for all members of our community. We operate on a 'pay what you can' basis, with all funds going back into the store. We have a good selection of most uniform items (primary and secondary) and welcome donations. You can find us at the secondary main reception during school hours.
