Train to Teach
Castle Newnham works in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire to provide a course that has a predominantly professional focus.
Trainee teachers will undertake placements in two different schools and spend one week in a different key stage setting during your training. Trainee teachers are supported throughout by a skilled, creative and dedicated team and an experienced mentor.
Each Friday is spent at the University of Bedfordshire alongside other PGCE students.
Our partnership includes a group of very successful and growing secondary schools and a number of very well established primary schools. Each school has great experience in supporting trainees and new entrants to the profession and each is staffed by dedicated, ambitious and supportive colleagues.
Trainees will find themselves well supported and with access to innovative practice and high-quality professional development.
Why choose the Castle Newnham Partnership?
Our partnership has been built on ambition – for our pupils and for our staff – and this includes our trainees. Our schools are expanding and developing and always keen to recruit the very best new teachers to work with our wonderful pupils.
Our trainees strongly recommend the course on the basis of the training they receive, as well as the feeling of being part of a warm and supportive partnership.
Applications can be made through the Apply for Teacher Training website.
